Annuaire de législation haïtienne: the laws, decrees and arrêtés of 1910
- The two laws the editor singles out are the amended Cap-Haïtien to Port-au-Prince railway contracts and the Macdonald banana concession.
- A settlement ended the Gonaïves to Hinche railway litigation and fixed the position of shareholders on the Cap-Haïtien to Grande Rivière du Nord line.
- Haiti accepted the Berne copyright convention of 13 November 1908 by presidential act of 7 May 1910.
- A modus vivendi of 20 May 1910 eased the passport formalities of the 1864 law that had obstructed travel with the Dominican Republic.
The seventh year of the Annuaire, covering 1910.
The editor names two of the year's most important laws: the one amending the contracts and specifications of the Cap-Haïtien to Port-au-Prince railway, and the one sanctioning the contract granted to James Macdonald for the cultivation, purchase and exploitation of bananas. A prior settlement ended the litigation between the government and the former Gonaïves to Hinche railway company and regulated the position of shareholders in the Cap-Haïtien to Grande Rivière du Nord line. On external relations, the President accepted by act of 7 May the Berne Convention of 13 November 1908 revising the 1886 convention for the protection of literary and artistic works, and a modus vivendi of 20 May 1910 modified the passport formalities of the law of 19 September 1864, which had caused repeated difficulty with the Dominican Republic and hampered travel between the two territories. A law of August 1910 covers the exchange of postal parcels.
On agriculture, departmental competitions were held for the 1 May agriculture festival, organised by an arrêté of 15 February.
The Macdonald banana concession and the railway contracts are the documentary base of the export-agriculture and infrastructure concessions that define Haitian economic policy in the decade before the occupation.
