Full Description

Le Moniteur, 172e année, Spécial No. 12, Tuesday 11 April 2017, carrying the Loi sur la signature électronique and the Loi sur les échanges électroniques.

The signature law's passage is printed on the cover: voted at the Chamber of Deputies on 4 September 2014 and at the Senate on 14 February 2017, which is why every later instrument cites it as the law of 14 February 2017.

The corpus already holds three texts that depend on this one: the decree of 29 January 2016 on electronic signatures, the decree of 20 August 2025 amending the law of 14 February 2017 to adapt the law of evidence to information technology and widen CONATEL's powers, and the arrêté of 19 September 2025 setting the modalities for applying it. Until now the statute those three amend, apply and extend was the one document missing. Electronic signature is the legal precondition for digital payments, e-government and remote contracting, so this is infrastructure legislation.
