Environmental and Social Impact Identification and Mitigation Sheet: La Glode Drinking-Water Network (commune of Chansolme, Nord-Ouest), August 2018
- Works: reinforcement of the settling basin, sealing of reservoir leaks or general repair, a chlorination chamber with the chlorination system put into operation, and renewal and extension of the pipe over about 1,000 m.
- No separate mitigation budget; costs are inside the works estimate.
- World Bank non-objection given February 26, 2019.
- Prepared under the EPARD rural water and sanitation program, financed by the World Bank.
- Screened under OP 4.01 and Haiti's 2005 framework environmental decree.
The sheet identifies the environmental and social impacts of works on the La Glode rural drinking-water system (SAEP) in the Nord-Ouest and proposes mitigation measures, as the World Bank's operational policy on environmental assessment (OP 4.01) and Haiti's 2005 framework environmental decree require. It sits in DINEPA's EPARD safeguards set, one sheet for each rural system in the program.
The works are reinforcement of the settling basin, sealing of reservoir leaks or general repair, a chlorination chamber with the chlorination system put into operation, and renewal and extension of the pipe over about 1,000 m. The sheet sets no mitigation budget of its own: mitigation costs sit in the works estimate, because most impacts come from construction work that the contractor must manage. The World Bank specialists gave their non-objection on February 26, 2019.
