- Prepared under the EPARD rural water and sanitation program, financed by the World Bank.
- Screened under OP 4.01 and Haiti's 2005 framework environmental decree.
The sheet identifies the environmental and social impacts of works on the Beauvoir rural drinking-water system (SAEP) in the Nord-Ouest and proposes mitigation measures, as the World Bank's operational policy on environmental assessment (OP 4.01) and Haiti's 2005 framework environmental decree require. It sits in DINEPA's EPARD safeguards set, one sheet for each rural system in the program.
The works are a dry wall to protect the intake upstream, repair and protection of the reservoir with a chlorination device, and replacement of the damaged 3-inch supply line (3,500 m and 2,700 m of PVC). The old system was built in 1980 by CARE and rehabilitated in 1990 and 2009. No displacement or land donation is needed. Negative impacts are mostly minor, temporary and local. This is the revised version of October 2018. The environmental budget is US$2,000. The World Bank specialists gave their non-objection on February 26, 2019.
