Building resilience of communities through security and inclusive development

Published title: DANBI: Building Resilience of Communities through Promoting Security and Inclusive Development by Social Cohesion based on Women's Capacity in Leogane

US$ millions unless stated. Haitian fiscal year, October to September. FY2026-27 began October 1, 2026.

Description

The aim of this project is to facilitate voluntary returns for communities remaining in two internally displaced persons camps in Haiti, through the provision of rental assistance, health care and livelihood support, with a particular focus on women and girls. As such, IOM is providing trainings and workshops to approximately 40 vulnerable mothers and single mothers, which include a social awareness and sensitization program to enhance leadership capacities, alliance-building and other capacities needed to facilitate the meaningful participation of more women in decision-making process. The project also promotes the diversification of women’s livelihoods opportunities and improvement of household incomes.
