Summary: The first part of a two-part research report on how food moves and is eaten in Haiti, with attention to the growth of snack foods.
Key Findings
- Treats food consumption as a market question rather than only as a nutrition outcome.
- Gives particular attention to snack foods as an emerging market and to the prospects for high quality local products.
- Part I of two parts, so the second part carries the remainder of the analysis.
Full Description
The first part of a two-part research report on how food moves and is eaten in Haiti, with attention to the growth of snack foods. Consumption patterns are rarely studied in Haiti outside nutrition surveys, and treating snack foods as an emerging market is a commercial reading of a subject usually handled as deprivation.
