Cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment at CERMICOL: the RNDDH presses the authorities to act
- The network calls the treatment of detainees at CERMICOL cruel, inhuman and degrading.
- It treats their legal status alongside their conditions.
- It asks for measures leading to release when judicial investigations go nowhere.
- It asks that the requisitions submitted by the centre's own prison staff be acted on.
Concerned by the general conditions in which people are held at the Centre de Rééducation des Mineurs en Conflit avec la Loi and by their legal status, the network puts the question before the public and demands that the state end the cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment inflicted on the detainees at once. Its recommendations reach both ends of the problem: measures leading to the release of detainees when judicial investigations go nowhere, and action on the requisitions the prison staff assigned to the centre have submitted in order to do their work.
