Six months after the assassination of Jovenel Moïse: no further police investigation and no judicial inquiry
- Six months after the assassination there is no supplementary judicial police investigation and no judicial inquiry.
- The network's earlier finding stands: two officers responsible for presidential security supported the plan.
- It asks that the banking institutions through which the crime was paid for be identified.
- It asks for an investigation into the conduct of the investigating magistrate and his clerk.
The report recalls what the network's own investigation established, that the assassination followed a carefully assembled plan whose authors could count on the support of two of the officers responsible for presidential security, and then asks what has happened to the case since. It sets out the crossed telephone calls recorded around the killing, looks closely at several of the people named in it, and describes how the judicial police inquiry was blocked and why no judicial investigation exists six months on.
The network's position is that it falls to the police and the courts to bring out the truth and convict those responsible, and it asks them to give instructions for the police inquiry to resume, to identify the banking institutions in Haiti through which the preparation and the commission of the crime were paid for, to hear everyone without distinction who spoke with those named, and to investigate and sanction the conduct of the investigating magistrate and his clerk in the handling of the file.
