Haiti Education in Figures

- Records gender parity as effectively reached nationally, with a fundamental parity index of 0.99 and departmental values from 0.76 in the Sud to 1.03 in the Ouest.
- Gives net enrolment by department from 70.0 percent in the Artibonite to 85.7 percent in the Nippes, and by sex, with female rates at or above male rates in most departments.

The Direction de la Planification et de la Coopération Externe publishes this fold-out alongside the full statistical yearbook as the short form of the 2024-2025 school census. It counts 18,241 schools, of which 15 percent are public. Twenty percent of schools offer a single level of education, 45 percent offer two, and 35 percent are complete, covering preschool, basic and secondary education together. The tables break net participation rates down by department, by sector and by sex, with a gender parity index for each: preschool participation runs from 70.7 percent in Artibonite to 99.4 percent in Grand'Anse, and the public share of preschool participation is far lower, 6.9 percent in Artibonite against 24.3 percent in Grand'Anse. Parity indices sit at or near 1.00 across departments. 2 pages.
