Haiti Monthly Climate and Weather, April 2026

FEWS NET's monthly climate and weather report for Haiti, covering April 2026. Sea-surface temperatures were near to above average in the east-central Pacific and warmer than average across the Caribbean and subtropical Atlantic, with anomalies of 1.5 to over 2.5 degrees in places. El Nino was likely to emerge soon, at an 82 percent chance over May to July 2026, and continue through the 2026-27 winter at a 96 percent chance. Rainfall was widely above average, with surpluses of 100 mm to over 300 mm across central and eastern regions, specifically Centre, Sud-Est and eastern Ouest. The southern peninsula and parts of Centre and Artibonite recorded minimum temperature anomalies 1 degree or more below average. This is the month the outlook turns to El Nino, which is historically associated with drier-than-average conditions in Haiti.
