Report on the Situation of Human Rights in Haiti (1969)
- Its OAS symbol is OEA/Ser.L/V/II.21, Doc. 6, 21 May 1969, which identifies it across languages and hosts.
- It was published as HTML and never as a file, so it was absent from document collections that store files.
- It belongs to a run of eight reports from 1969 to 2022, and the run makes any single edition comparable.
The first of the Commission's country reports on Haiti, written under the Duvalier government. It opens by setting out what the Commission had already published on Haiti, including requests for information to the government on Haitians returned from the Dominican Republic and on the Beauvoir-Florez family case, and proceeds from that record.
The Commission has reported on Haiti since 1968 and this is one of eight country reports in that run, which is the longest continuous external human rights assessment of Haiti by a regional body. The symbols for the whole series are listed in footnote 22 of the 2022 report.
Published as multi-page HTML under cidh.oas.org/countryrep/, one file per chapter, with no PDF edition. Reassembled into one document with scripts/corpus/assemble_cidh_html_report.py, which takes the chapters in the order the index lists them.
