Key Findings
Full Description

Prepared by Jean Chesnel Jean et Associés for the UN Environment Programme and dated March 2015, this study covers five agricultural value chains in southern Haiti: mango, cashew, honey, castor and cacao. It begins with a summary for decision-makers, then frames Haiti as a complex agricultural environment and situates the chains in relation to MARNDR, before scoping each of the five. A profile of the chains in the south follows, treating the environmental, socio-economic and institutional problems together rather than separately, and then the current situation of each chain under study. Grouping castor and honey with the better-documented mango and cacao chains is what distinguishes it: the corpus holds far more on the latter two.
