Up-scaling ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction in vulnerable communities

Published title: Up-Scaling Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction in Vulnerable Countries and Communities (UP-ECO-DRR)

US$ millions unless stated. Haitian fiscal year, October to September. FY2026-27 began October 1, 2026.

Description

Demonstrating models for upscaling Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) projects in five countries: Ethiopia, Uganda, Haïti, Indonesia and India. PfR will implement a 3 years community-based IRM programme where it integrates both climate risk management and ecosystem management and restoration, with a subsequent emphasis on the role of the latter in the ability to strengthen community resilience. Throughout the programme the effects of climate (like weather extremes, seasonal forecasts, and climate change) will inform the selected activities.
