The RNDDH's position on the chaotic situation in Haiti
- The offensive began on 29 February 2024, mounted by the two coalitions federated as Viv Ansanm.
- Jimmy Chérizier is named as the federation's leader and spokesman.
- The network asks that the PNH high command be dismissed and prosecuted for failing to prevent the escalation.
- Recent prison escapes are named as an aggravating factor.
Since 29 February 2024 the two large coalitions of armed groups, the G-9 an Fanmi e Alye and G-Pèp, brought together in a federation called Viv Ansanm with Jimmy Chérizier as its leader and spokesman, have been making a demonstration of their power across several communes of the Ouest, at enormous cost in lives and property. The network, which has been watching since, sets out its position. Its demands are that the detention and holding centres it names be addressed, that the armed groups be dismantled, that the armed men spreading terror be arrested, tried and convicted, and that the high command of the Haitian National Police be dismissed and prosecuted for failing to prevent the escalation of violence, which the recent prison escapes have made worse.
