The plan covers nine years, 2022 to 2030, and was drawn up with government institutions, the private sector, civil society, local communities and universities. It rests on the finding that Haiti receives on average 2.8 tropical storms and 0.8 major hurricanes a year within 500 kilometers, with damages exceeding 20 percent of GDP. It focuses on four sectors chosen for their economic weight and climate exposure: agriculture, health, infrastructure and water resources. The plan lists 340 adaptation actions nationally, of which 21 are highly prioritized, mainly climate-smart agriculture, irrigation, integrated water management, reforestation and agroforestry, watershed management, capacity building and disease prevention. The 21 priority actions are estimated to cost US$980 million, to come from national and international financing channels. The plan also sets out governance, a resource mobilization strategy and a roadmap for regular updates. The document has 92 pages, in French with an English executive summary.
