Meetings of a joint CEP-Primature commission on changes to the electoral decree of 2 June 2026

Summary — The CEP reports a series of working meetings held between 11 and 23 June 2026 by a joint commission of three CEP members and representatives of the Primature, on changes to be made to the electoral decree of 2 June 2026. The Council states the changes concerned provisions affecting the electoral institution's INDEPENDENCE, among other elements liable to disrupt the process. Representatives of several political parties, invited by the Primature, also took part. This is the negotiation that produced the amending decree of 2 July 2026.
