Syndromic reporting came from 687 sentinel sites through the MESI system, and virological testing from 7 etiologic surveillance sites. Sentinel sites reported 36,559 influenza-like illness cases from week 1 to week 6 of 2021. The heaviest reporting department was Ouest (n=8,773). Leading communes: Croix-des-Bouquets 26.7% (2,345) and Carrefour 12.23% (1,073) in Ouest. Every influenza detection reported for the year to date was influenza B, and the subtype chart shows the Victoria lineage. Age distribution of positive cases: 0-4 years 57.1%, 5-24 years 34.3%, 25-49 years 5.7% and 50-64 years 2.9%. Sample counts and weekly positivity appear only as unlabelled chart series, so no figure for them is recorded here.
