Full Description

Syndromic reporting came from 690 sentinel sites through the MESI system, and virological testing from 7 etiologic surveillance sites. Sentinel sites reported 143,371 influenza-like illness cases from week 1 to week 41 of 2020. The heaviest reporting department was Ouest (n=38,516) and Sud (n=19,525). Leading communes: Carrefour 19.54% (7,527) and Croix-des-Bouquets 19.35% (7,453) in Ouest; Les Cayes 49.20% (9,606) and Aquin 11.61% (2,266) in Sud. Influenza detections for the year to date split 70.18% influenza A and 29.82% influenza B. A table of other respiratory viruses covering week 32 of 2018 to week 52 of 2019 reports adenovirus positivity of 10.6% on 667 samples in 2018 and 6.1% on 363 samples in 2019, with parainfluenza 1 at 4.2% and 1.7%, parainfluenza 2 at 0.3% and 0.0%, parainfluenza 3 at 6.4% and 0.8%, and respiratory syncytial virus at 5.4% and 0.8%. Sample counts and weekly positivity appear only as unlabelled chart series, so no figure for them is recorded here.
