This issue of the weekly report from the Direction d'Épidémiologie, de Laboratoire et de la Recherche (DELR) covers epidemiological week 1 of 2020, December 29, 2019 to January 4, 2020. The network lists 678 sites. National completeness was 71% and promptness was 93%.
The notification table gives 173 immediately notifiable, 6,009 weekly notifiable and 11,409 other new cases for the week, 17,591 in all. Deaths recorded with the week's notifications came to 85: 6 in the immediately notifiable group, 21 in the weekly group and 58 among the other new cases. In the immediately notifiable list, the week counted 37 animal bites with suspected rabies, 2 suspected cholera cases, 121 confirmed malaria cases and 5 maternal deaths.
