The opening chapters set out the aims of Haitian education and of the école fondamentale, an organization chart of the education system and a timetable for the first and second cycles based on 30 weeks of teaching a year. The subject sections cover Creole, French, mathematics, social sciences and experimental sciences. Each is organized by themes with a general objective, then tables of specific objectives, content, suggested teaching and learning activities and evaluation.
