Minimum Competencies Programme: 2nd Year of Fundamental Education
- Issued November 2019 as a crisis response: the foreword attributes it to school closures across every department, district and zone.
- Rations the curriculum to what is indispensable rather than restating it in full, so it shows the ministry's own priorities.
- Covers French communication, mathematics, experimental sciences and social sciences.
- One of nine grade volumes, 2nd year of fundamental education.
The 2nd-year volume of the minimum-competencies program issued by MENFP's Direction de l'Enseignement Fondamental in November 2019. Its foreword states the reason plainly: the crisis of the preceding months had disrupted every department, district and school zone, and the ministry set out the competencies a pupil must still acquire when the school year cannot be taught in full. It covers French communication, mathematics, experimental sciences and social sciences. As a rationed curriculum written under duress it records what the education system judged indispensable, which is a different and more revealing document than a full curriculum.
