(2017-03) Capitalisation and Recapitalisation Project for SMEs
Summary — A MEF presentation on financing post-Matthew recovery through SME capitalisation and recapitalisation. It distinguishes private self-financing, enterprise self-financing, traditional credit and institutional credit as sources of recovery finance.
Key Findings
- Frames SME recapitalisation as part of post-Matthew recovery finance.
- Separates household self-financing, enterprise self-financing, traditional credit and institutional credit.
- Shows that recovery depended on private resources as well as public reconstruction spending.
Full Description
This deck records the financial-services side of the post-Matthew Table Verte. Instead of treating recovery only as public reconstruction spending, it asks how families and businesses will finance the return of economic activity. The opening categories are revealing: diaspora and gifts, business retained resources, traditional credit and formal institutional credit. That mix reflects a recovery economy in which private household and enterprise resources are already carrying part of the burden, while the state considers how to recapitalize SMEs so they can operate again.
