Haiti Crisis Response Plan 2026
- Over 90% of Port-au-Prince is estimated to be under gang control as of mid-2025.
- The economy has contracted for six consecutive years, with high inflation and food insecurity.
- Over 1.4 million people are internally displaced as of September 2025.
- Deportations from the Dominican Republic averaged 1,000 per day between October 2024 and September 2025.
- Humanitarian access is severely constrained due to insecurity and infrastructure breakdowns.
The Haiti Crisis Response Plan 2026 outlines IOM's vision for a more secure, resilient, and dignified Haiti amidst ongoing crises. The plan focuses on three key objectives: saving lives and protecting people on the move, driving solutions to displacement, and facilitating pathways for regular migration. It addresses the root causes of displacement, such as violence, economic collapse, and environmental degradation, while strengthening the resilience and self-reliance of displaced populations and host communities. The plan also aims to improve border management, counter cross-border trafficking, and support the Haitian government in crisis response and migration management.
