First Annual Report on GPRSP Implementation (2007-2008): Making a Qualitative Leap Forward, with the IDA-IMF Joint Staff Advisory Note
- Catalogued as an IDA-IMF advisory note, but the Government's own annual report is the bulk of the file, from page 12.
- Four back-to-back hurricanes and tropical storms in August-September destroyed 60 percent of the autumn harvest.
- Infrastructure damage was estimated at about 15 percent of GDP, with post-disaster needs assessed at US$763 million.
- Real GDP growth slowed to 1.2 percent from 3.4 percent in FY2007, so the strategy's first year coincided with a sharp slowdown.
The Government of Haiti's first annual implementation report on the DSNCRP poverty reduction strategy for 2007-2008, in English translation, published with the IDA-IMF Joint Staff Advisory Note. The file is catalogued by the World Bank as a JSAN, but the advisory note occupies only the opening pages and the government's own report follows from page 12. It covers a year in which food price rises and four successive hurricanes and tropical storms disrupted both the strategy and the economy.
