Baseline Study on the Fight Against the Coffee Berry Borer at Baptiste

Summary: The baseline study for the campaign against the coffee berry borer at Baptiste, produced by ICEF-DA under MARNDR's DEFI program, September 2011.
Key Findings
Full Description

Produced by the Institut de Consultation d'Évaluation et de Formation pour le Développement Agricole under MARNDR's Programme de Développement des Filières Économiques Rurales (DEFI) and dated September 2011, this establishes the starting situation for the campaign against the coffee berry borer at Baptiste. It sets out antecedents, purpose and methodology, gives an identity card for the pest, and then analyzes the actors involved in the fight against it at Baptiste: MARNDR with IICA, ICEF-DA itself, and other participants. It is the first of three DEFI studies on the Baptiste borer campaign held here, followed by the 2012 impact assessment and the 2014 socio-economic adaptability study, which together document one pest-control intervention from baseline to evaluation.
