Report on the Situation of Human Rights in Haiti (1990)
- Its OAS symbol is OEA/Ser.L/V/II.77 rev. 1, Doc. 18, 8 May 1990, which identifies it across languages and hosts.
- It was published as HTML and never as a file, so it was absent from document collections that store files.
- It belongs to a run of eight reports from 1969 to 2022, and the run makes any single edition comparable.
A report covering the end of the military period before the 1990 elections. Its introduction reviews the Commission's attention to Haiti from the start of its work, through the governments of François Duvalier from 1957 to 1971 and Jean-Claude Duvalier from 1971 to 1986, and the 1979 special report that followed the on-site visit.
The Commission has reported on Haiti since 1968 and this is one of eight country reports in that run, which is the longest continuous external human rights assessment of Haiti by a regional body. The symbols for the whole series are listed in footnote 22 of the 2022 report.
Published as multi-page HTML under cidh.oas.org/countryrep/, one file per chapter, with no PDF edition. Reassembled into one document with scripts/corpus/assemble_cidh_html_report.py, which takes the chapters in the order the index lists them.
