CEP Regulations on the method for calculating votes
Summary — Defines how the majority needed to determine the winning candidate in presidential and legislative elections is computed, under the 1987 amended Constitution (articles 90.1, 90.2, 94.2, 94.3, 134 and 134 bis), the electoral decree of 2 March 2015 and the arrêté of 29 March 2016. Section 2 provides that the absolute majority for the first round of the presidential election is calculated by aggregating all valid votes cast at every polling station nationwide to obtain the national valid-vote total on polling day.
