Publication of the definitive list of approved political parties

The CEP's publication, under article 129 of the electoral decree of 2 June 2026, of the definitive list of political parties approved to continue to the next stages of the electoral process. The Council presents it as a determining step in implementing the process and states that it follows its examination of the files submitted by political structures against the requirements of the legal framework, with the list posted on the CEP website and its official Facebook and X pages. The attached roll, dated 7 July 2026, records three hundred and twenty parties registered and three hundred and sixteen approved, four short. Two things are worth holding together. First, the legal basis has changed: the March 2026 list rested on the December 2025 decree, this one on the June 2026 decree that replaced it, so the two lists are issued under different frameworks. Second, approval has risen from 282 to 316 of the same 320 registered parties, meaning almost every party that was incomplete in March completed its file. It is dated Pétion-ville, 9 July 2026.
