Full Description

A CEP press note reporting that on Friday 24 April 2026 the Council transmitted to the executive a draft electoral decree harmonized with the National Pact for Stability and the Organization of Elections, after reworking the decree of 1 December 2025. It adds two things in progress. A special commission made up of the institution's senior staff together with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme, UNOPS and the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti is reassessing the budget for electoral operations. And the Council is working on a revised electoral calendar, to be published shortly. The note is the intermediate step between the December 2025 decree and the decree of 2 June 2026 that replaced it, and it is the document against which the CEP later measured that decree: on 2 June the Council stated publicly that the text the Primature adopted was entirely different from the draft it had submitted on 24 April. It is dated Pétion-ville, 24 April 2026.
