Monthly Inflation Note, March 2026
Summary: The Bank of the Republic of Haiti's monthly note on inflation for March 2026. It reads the consumer price index published by IHSI and adds the central bank's own analysis: headline inflation month on month and year on year, movement in the main consumption functions, inflation broken down by whether goods are imported or locally produced and by region of the country, core inflation, the factors the bank holds responsible for the month's movement, and its inflation forecast.
Key Findings
- Monthly inflation remained at 0.8 percent in March 2026, while annual inflation slowed by 1.5 percentage points to 20.6 percent.
- Cumulative inflation in the first six months of FY2025-2026 reached 6.1 percent, compared with 16.1 percent one year earlier.
- Monthly slowing in food, clothing, health and restaurants was partly offset by housing, leisure, education, alcoholic beverages and transport.
- Food and housing contributed 74.7 percent of monthly inflation and 75.1 percent of annual inflation.
- BRH linked the moderation to improved food supply and gradual normalization of food flows to markets.
