Statistical Bulletin No. 73
Issue 73 of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti's quarterly statistical bulletin, covering October to December 2009. The bulletin is a reference volume rather than an analysis: it publishes the series themselves, table by table, with no commentary, which is what makes it the copy to cite for a monetary or financial figure.
Four sections carry the tables. Monetary and financial statistics run from the headline monetary indicators and the monetary situation through bank liquidity, reserve requirements, exchange-market spreads and volumes, interest rates, deposits and credit to the private sector with each bank's market share, the commercial-bank and central-bank balance sheets, BRH bond holdings, net foreign assets and clearing-house activity. The remaining sections cover public finances, the balance of payments, and prices and other economic indicators. Each table names the BRH directorate that produced it, which is how provenance is traced: the Direction Monnaie et Analyse Économique for the monetary aggregates, the Direction du Contrôle du Crédit for banking and credit, and the Direction des Affaires Internationales for the external accounts.
Because the tables give levels for each period rather than a single observation, a series is built by reading the same table across consecutive issues. Haiti's fiscal year runs October to September, so a quarter labeled here does not align with a calendar-year quarter in the public finance section. 67 pages.
