What is Haiti's poverty rate?
An estimated 49.0 percent of the population lived below the $3.00 a day poverty line in fiscal year 2025, according to the World Bank.
Updated 30 April 2026.
Definition and limits
The figure is the share of the population living on less than $3.00 a day at 2021 purchasing power parity, for a fiscal year running October to September. The last household survey to measure consumption was the 2012 ECVMAS, so every later year is a World Bank nowcast that passes the change in GDP per capita through the 2012 distribution. The $3.00 line at 2021 PPP is a higher real threshold than the $2.15 line at 2017 PPP it replaced in June 2025, so it gives a higher headcount for the same year.
