Definition and limits
The headline values output in current US dollars at the market exchange rate. A depreciating gourde lowers the dollar figure when real output is unchanged, and a stable gourde with high inflation raises it. The dollar level rose about a third between FY2024 and FY2025 while real output fell. Every Haiti GDP year, including the World Bank's, is a fiscal year running October to September and labeled by the closing year. The IHSI compiles the accounts; the World Bank relays them. The chart draws real GDP in constant gourdes at the national base year 2011-2012. That series peaked in 2018 and has fallen every year since, by about one seventh through 2024.
