Objective

The Project will supply reliable, affordable, and clean energy to commercial and industrial consumers and is expected to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Haiti. At the market level, the Project is expected to contribute to competitiveness as potential for replication is significant both by the scaling up Solengy’s unique offering and by enabling the entrance of additional providers of similar solutions.

Description

The proposed IFC investment entails a financing package for an aggregate amount of up US$12 million to Solengy Haiti S.A. (“Solengy” or the “Company”) for funding the deployment of additional solar energy systems (of up to 5 MWp and 11MWh) through the Company’s lease-to-own program to its customers. The financing package consists of: (i) a senior IFC A loan of up to US$3 million; (ii) senior parallel loans of up to US$3 million; and (iii) an additional US$6 million in subordinated loan. Solengy is a distributed energy solution provider in Haiti, providing turnkey and custom energy systems between 1KWp to 1MWp to households, schools, hospitals, commercial and industrial customers.
