Multisectoral emergency assistance for vulnerable displaced populations

Published title: Multisectoral emergency assistance for vulnerable displaced populations in Haiti

US$ millions unless stated. Haitian fiscal year, October to September. FY2026-27 began October 1, 2026.

Description

The security situation in Haiti has rapidly deteriorated, driving increased internal displacement, particularly in the Centre and Artibonite departments, where armed violence is the primary cause. Most internally displaced persons (IDPs) reside outside formal sites in highly vulnerable conditions, while those in sites face similarly severe risks. Women and children who comprise the majority of the displaced population are disproportionately affected. Protection risks are critical, with sexual violence the most frequently reported violation, especially among women and girls. These risks are compounded by limited access to quality survivor services and restricted mobility. Through this project, IOM is providing integrated, life-saving assistance to vulnerable IDPs and returnees. Interventions focus on Protection, Health, Emergency Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFI), WASH, and Camp
