Description

UNFPA's Maternal Newborn Health Fund (MNHF) provides catalytic financial and technical support to 44 countries with the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. The fund develops and shares evidence-based global public goods, conducts capacity-building cooperation with many countries, normative policy work and technical guidance in maternal health and SRHR. Thematic focus areas, in close collaboration with the WHO, ICM and UNICEF, are strengthening the midwifery profession, streamlining emergency obstetric care, and systems for investigating maternal mortality causes. Activities take place at global, national and regional levels.
