ECHO Binational HTI-DR - Haiti

US$ millions unless stated. Haitian fiscal year, October to September. FY2026-27 began October 1, 2026.

Description

SUMMARY With the escalating humanitarian crisis in Haiti on one side, and the growing deportation measures taken by the Dominican government on the other side, many children and their families are facing immense adversity on either side of the island. Increased armed violence are causing mass displacement in Haiti, exposing children and adolescents to growing risks, and hampering access to education. Deportations are causing acute protection risks, from family separation to heightened risk of child labour, SGBV and acute emotional distress. The project aims to provide immediate and life-saving protection and education support to the people most in need, targeting children, adolescents and their families in the Haitian communes of Anse-à-Pitres, Jacmel and Bainet, and the Dominican provinces of Elias

Piña at the border, as well as La Altagracia’s Verón. The project runs for 24 months from the 15th of May 2025 until the 14th of May 2027 in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
