Description
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Haiti will implement the WASH in Urban Communities Phase II (WUC-II) Project in five areas of Port-au-Prince so that families may live in a clean and safe environment with reduced vulnerability to public health hazards. WUC-II will be implemented under CRS’s broader Community Resettlement and Recovery Program (CRRP) that was developed as an early recovery strategy since June 2010. CRRP, a program that will continue through 2014, supports the resettlement of 25,000 earthquake affected families in communities of origin through integrated shelter, water and sanitation, protection, community infrastructure, and livelihoods solutions. WUC-II is one of the key parts of CRRP, and will focus on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) activities and synergize with other CRRP activities in areas such as livelihoods, shelter, education, and protection.
