Description
This project aims to improve the living conditions, development and integration of IDPs and deported Haitians (from the Dominican Republic) in the Fond Parisien area. This will be achieved through creating and strengthening income-generating activities, in particular for groups of women and vulnerable displaced youths based in Camp d’Espoir and other communities in Fonds Parisien. This will include creating a mutual credit fund to give grants to women, requiring financial assistance to support their business initiative, and supporting youths who have dropped out from education and work to resume their training. The project will also contribute to strengthening respect for human rights and dignity in the village and camp. One aspect of this will be to raise awareness and strengthen
more
links between existing and new residents (IDPs and repatriated migrants) in the area and promote a culture of peace. As part of this, activities will also be held for migrants being repatriated from the Dominican Republic. A recreation and leisure space will also be created, where artistic and artisan training will be provided to youths, and which will also serve as a space for the community to meet and share idea on the reconstruction of their country
