Description
The situation in the project region has become more critical in recent years due to the general socio-political crisis in the country, the escalating violence in the capital has not yet spread to this part of the country. The effects of the crisis, such as high inflation, a permanent shortage of consumer goods and the high rate of emigration of the population abroad, are making life particularly difficult for agriculture, which is the main source of income. People are more dependent than ever on the yields from their often very small areas of land in order to survive. The aim of the project is to improve the yields and incomes of farming families through agroecological farming methods and to adapt
more
these methods to the negative effects of climate change. In total, over 1,000 families will be reached by the measures. The measures include training courses, further training for local farmers organisations and the purchase of seeds and animals.
