Positive change in the environmental situation of farming families

Published title: Positive change in the environmental situation and increase in the socio-economic quality of life of farming families in Haiti

US$ millions unless stated. Haitian fiscal year, October to September. FY2026-27 began October 1, 2026.

Description

The once fertile and agriculturally productive project region has seen its productivity impaired by the effects of climate change, so that the majority of the farming population has difficulties securing their food through agriculture. The project therefore contributes to the promotion of sustainable and healthy peasant agriculture, the improvement of socio-economic conditions and the strengthening of the agro-ecological movement in the community. Measures include the construction of wells as well as training in sustainable cultivation methods.
