Malnutrition and protection for lifesaving in emergencies - SCC 2025 to 2028

US$ millions unless stated. Haitian fiscal year, October to September. FY2026-27 began October 1, 2026.

Description

April 2025 – Conflict, displacement and natural disasters disrupt food systems, leading to shortages and increased prices and, consequently, increased malnutrition and related issues. In protracted crises around the world, children face acute malnutrition due to ongoing violence and instability. Approximately 30 million children are malnourished in conflict zones, with over 10 million suffering from severe acute malnutrition. With Global Affairs Canada (GAC) support, Save the Children Canada (SCC) helps provide lifesaving assistance to address the urgent nutrition and protection needs of crisis-affected people in humanitarian contexts across the globe for 3 years. This project focuses on improving the nutritional status of vulnerable populations and enhancing the protective environment so that risks of violence are mitigated, through delivering emergency nutrition
