Description
The project aims to increase the prosperity of Haitians by improving skills for employment in the Tourism industry. The initiative targets youth, women and handicapped people in the Port-au-Prince and Cayes areas. In addition to traditional tourism, the project seeks opportunities for emerging small businesses, namely inns, small restaurants or restauration services, guided tours, ecotourism, etc. By multiplying expected employment opportunities and providing relevant training programs in select training facilities, the project meets local needs for training diversity, while facilitating inclusive tourism development. This initiative also includes workshops and training programs that raise awareness about environmental issues in tourism and hospitality. Project activities include: (1) create and review training programs that meet entrepreneurial and job market needs; (2) train training

facility managers and trainers; (3) create and operate job market integration services for students; and 4) strengthen relationships between training facilities and the private sector.
