The Direction de la Planification et de la Coopération Externe (DPCE) of MENFP compiled this 158-page register from the 2024-2025 school census, the first data collection after nine years without one. It covers the seven arrondissements of the Nord (Cap-Haïtien, Acul-du-Nord, Grande-Rivière-du-Nord, Saint-Raphaël, Borgne, Limbé and Plaisance) and their 19 communes, from Cap-Haïtien and Limonade to Pignon, Dondon and Pilate. Entries are ordered by arrondissement, commune, communal section or town, then public or non-public sector. Each gives the school identification code (CIE), whose first six digits locate the school and whose seventh marks the sector, plus name, address, founder, contact details and levels taught (preschool, fundamental, secondary). The Nord department code is 03. The minister's foreword gives national totals of 18,241 schools and 4,028,897 pupils, with about 942 schools closed, 515 of them completely.
