School Register, Grand'Anse Department

MENFP's school-by-school register for the Grand-Anse department, school year 2024-2025. The statistical yearbook gives the department its totals; this gives the list behind them, at the level where questions about which schools exist, and where, can actually be answered.

It is ordered administratively rather than alphabetically: the arrondissements of Jérémie, Anse-d'Hainault and Corail. Within an arrondissement the entries follow the communes, and within a commune the town and then the communal sections, so the volume doubles as a map of where provision sits inside the department.

The introduction explains how to read the school identifier: the leading digits locate the institution by department, arrondissement, town or communal section, and the remaining digits identify the establishment itself. This volume does not print a worked example of its own department code in the pages sampled here, so read it from the introduction before decoding an identifier. The identifier is what makes the register queryable rather than merely browsable: the same code links an establishment here to the ministry's own systems, so a school found in this list can be followed into the school census and the SIGE. At 85 pages this is a reference volume to be consulted rather than read, and the ten departmental registers together are the only public list of Haiti's schools at establishment level.
