Extension of the registration period for political groupings to 31 July 2026

A CEP press note, reference CEP/DC/025-2526, extending the registration period for political groupings to Friday 31 July 2026 inclusive, at the request of several political organizations. Approved parties wishing to form groupings therefore have additional time to file their registration file at the electoral institution's central bureau in Pétion-ville, Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 4pm. As a consequence, the registration of regroupings is postponed to the period 10 to 14 August 2026. The Council frames the decision as part of its intent to remain attentive to political actors, whom it calls genuine stakeholders in the electoral process, and reaffirms its commitment to an inclusive and impartial process conducted with independence, transparency and democratic accountability. The note is the operative amendment to the notice of 9 July 2026, and it matters for anyone tracking the sequence of party-registration windows, which moved repeatedly across the two decrees.
