CEP/DC/035-2526: PAPEH steering committee meets, followed by a session with resident diplomatic missions

The PAPEH steering committee is co-chaired by the president of the CEP and the resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Haiti. Its meeting on Wednesday 5 August 2026 at the central bureau in Pétion-ville brought in the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, the United Nations Office for Project Services and other technical and financial partners. The committee reviewed the actions already completed, adopted decisions on the progress of the process, and set an evaluation meeting one month later.

A second session followed with members of the international community present in Haiti: the ambassadors of Canada, Chile, Mexico, Taiwan and Brazil, the chargé d'affaires of France, and representatives of the Organization of American States and of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti. The session reviewed where the electoral process stood and the stages remaining before polling. The note records that the participants welcomed the CEP's work under the electoral decree and restated their intention to continue their technical and institutional support.
