CEP/DC/044-2526: The CEP speaks on youth electoral participation at the Youth Day symposium

The Ministère de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de l'Action Civique organized the symposium on Wednesday 12 August 2026, under the year's global theme for International Youth Day, translated in the note as "Contextes différents, aspirations communes". The programme covered electoral participation, security and economic reform.

Speaking for the CEP, Councillor Yves Marie Édouard addressed young people on civic responsibility and the exercise of the vote, and summarized her remarks in three actions: register, take part, vote. In a panel on the electoral system, Eddy Philémond, deputy director of the CEP's electoral training directorate, set out the stages of the electoral process and the ways young people can take part in voter registration.
