Launch of the training session for future Electoral Security Agents in the Grand Nord and Grand Sud

A CEP press note reporting that on Thursday 9 July 2026 the Council launched the training session for future Electoral Security Agents of the Grand Nord and Grand Sud. The session, ending on 11 July 2026, ran simultaneously at Jacmel for the Sud-Est, Miragoâne for the Nippes and part of the Ouest, Les Cayes for the Sud, Jérémie for the Grand'Anse, Cap-Haïtien for the Nord, Gonaïves for the Artibonite, Hinche for the Centre, Fort-Liberté for the Nord-Est and Port-de-Paix for the Nord-Ouest. The Council presents it as strengthening the capacity of this category of staff so as to guarantee a safe, orderly environment suited to voter registration and to the polls. The figure the note supplies is the substantive one: around four thousand prospective agents took part nationwide. The session was organized by the CEP in partnership with the Haitian National Police, with logistical support from the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training. Read against the security constraint the Council itself quantified in December 2025, a four-thousand-strong dedicated electoral security cadre is the operational answer the CEP built to it.
