Upgrade sessions for future Electoral Registry Agents in the Sud, Artibonite and Nippes

A CEP press note reporting that on Monday 29 June 2026 the Council launched its series of upgrade sessions for future Electoral Registry Agents, in the Sud, Artibonite, Nippes and Ouest departments, the latter covering the Palmes region and La Gonâve. The towns of Les Cayes, Gonaïves and Miragoâne each host, every two days, groups of about a hundred young people drawn from the various communes of those four departments, split across two rooms, to work through the theoretical and practical notions they need in order to run voter registration and voting operations.

Miragoâne takes in at once the future agents of the eleven communes of the Nippes and those of the five communes concerned in the Ouest, namely Léogâne, Grand-Goâve, Petit-Goâve, Anse-à-Galets and Pointe-à-Raquette. The exercise was to continue in those departments on the same terms for several days, so that the Electoral Registry Directorate could reach every agent to be deployed in each commune, and the Grand'Anse, Sud-Est, Nord, Nord-Est, Nord-Ouest and Centre departments were also to receive the teams. These are the agents who staff registration, so the session dates the operational build-up to the launch of voter registration on 20 July 2026.
